RUOK? James Glover Kokoda 2014
Story
In September 2014, I am joining a special group to walk the legendary Kokoda Trail, to raise awareness and funds for R U OK? The 100Km (60Mi) track was made famous during WW2 for the courage shown by the soldiers that fought on the track, and their ability to look after each other under extreme heat, humidity, and the trauma of war.
R U OK? is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to encouraging and enabling us all to meaningfully ask anyone struggling with life 'are you ok?'
As an Engineer for Bristow Helicopters, a company that has actively encouraged and sponsored RUOK day, I have personally benefited from someone asking me 'are you OK?'. The truth was, I wasn't OK. Having access to the company sponsored EAP (Employee Assistance Program), and the safe knowledge I could ask for help has changed my life. I'm back on track, and want to make sure everyone has the courage to ask RUOK.
Your contribution, big or small will help R U OK? have more capacity to reach more Australians and help inspire regular, meaningful conversations every day of the year, and ultimately change, and even save lives.
I am personally covering all of the costs for travel and equipment, so your donation will go directly to R U OK?
